What Tests Do We Cover Under HIV Preventive Package?

A patient should wait for at least four weeks from the period before undergoing the test. Note that sexually transmitted infections may be detectable after a certain time. Here are the tests we cover under the HIV package.

• Lipid Profile

A lipid profile test is a complete cholesterol test that measures the total amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. We conduct this test to diagnose HIV or STI in a patient.

• Liver Function Screening

Serious infections may cause liver issues. Some symptoms include loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, and yellowish skin. Through the screening, we diagnose and detect viruses in vaginal fluids, semen, saliva, or blood.

• Hemogram

This test helps diagnose haematological cancers, anaemia, acute hemorrhagic states, allergies, and immunodeficiencies. Since most STDs are detectable using a blood test, we conduct a hemogram. 

The test combines with the urine samples & swabs for an accurate outcome. With this test, we ensure our patients do not pass along harmful STDs to others.

• Thyroid Profile

To diagnose and monitor STD conditions in a patient, we screen them with thyroid tests. It includes T3, total triiodothyronine T4, and total thyroxine TSH Ultra tests.

The T3 test diagnoses the condition of hyperthyroidism (when the body produces more than the required thyroid hormone). This test is used for monitoring treatment for thyroid disease. In the T4 test, we measure how well the thyroid works. 

It helps diagnose & monitor thyroid diseases. The thyroxine test is the blood test that diagnoses thyroid conditions. 

• Kidney Function Screening

Sexually transmitted infections may contribute to kidney complications. Thus, we recommend our patients undergo our kidney function screening to identify the amount of:

• Urea
• Creatinine
• Uric Acid
• Sodium
• Potassium
• Chloride
• Calcium
• Phosphorus

• HIV 1&2

We advise you to undergo our HIV antibody test. If a patient tests positive for HIV, we recommend them for follow-up tests. The HIV-1 or HIV-2 antibody test confirms HIV and identifies the type of HIV a patient gets tested for – (1) HIV-1 and (2) HIV-2.

• Blood Glucose Fasting

Impaired glucose tolerance alongside insulin resistance can precede weight loss in HIV patients. So, we conduct the test for our patients at our lab.
